Nero, AD 54-68. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 29 mm, 14.40 g, 6 h), Lugdunum, circa 66. IMP NERO CAESAR AVG P MAX TR P P Laureate head of Nero to right; globe at point of neck. Rev. SECVRITAS [AVGV]STI / S C Securitas, bare to her waist, seated to right on high-backed throne on which she leans with her right arm, resting her head on her right hand and holding short scepter in her left; before her, garlanded and lighted altar, against which leans lighted torch. BMC 353. Cohen 324. RIC 522. Rare. A splendid piece with attractive surfaces. Light areas of weakness on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
